Instant Cameras

What is the worst part of a film based camera? It is waiting for the photos to be developed, of course! When you are at a special event, or you’re just goofing around with the camera with family and friends, you want to see the photos right away. Sure, you can take the photos to one of the one hour photo developing places, but that still takes an hour – plus, it can get a little expensive, and by the time you get them, the moment is over Besides, what if there are just a few photos you want to see, but you have a whole role of film left? How many people have wasted a roll of film taking photos of rooms in your house, the trees, the dog – anything at all to use up all of those extra windows of film so you get the roll developed and get to the few pictures that you really do want to see? Talk about a waste of cash! It doesn’t have to be like that, though. That is where instant cameras come into the picture. The invention of instant cameras is one of those moments in the history of photography that changed everything. Instant cameras made picture taking much easier for people, plus, it made things a whole lot more fun.

About Instant Cameras

There is one name that is synonymous with instant cameras, and that, of course, is Polaroid. Polaroid instant cameras are so linked with instant camera technology that instant camera pictures, no matter what actually brand of camera they were taken on, have come to be called “polaroids”. Polaroid instant cameras were money makers for the company, and soon they were able to develop the technology to make the photos faster and more clear, which increased their popularity even more. Today, the technology has evolved to the point where you can actually get Polaroid instant disposable cameras.

Although Polaroid may have the inside track when it comes to digital cameras, there are non-Polaroid instant cameras on the market. One example is the Konica instant press cameras. These cameras achieve the same function as Polaroid instant cameras, but have never quite gained the cultural cache of a Polaroid instant camera.

If you want to buy an instant camera, the internet is a great place to do it. You will find the best prices online, and you can find unique instant cameras, like instant cameras for kids.
